Sect. B – Composers
In order to participate, the composer has to choose one of the specific music genres listed below.

Jazz
– Instrumentation:
– Drum
– Double Bass / El. Bass
– Piano / Synthesizer
– El. Guitar
– Sax
– Trumpet
– Voice
– The Author can freely use all combinations of the above list, from a single instrument to the whole instrumentation;
– Music scores using a different instrumentation from the one listed above will not be accepted and automatically excluded from the competition;
– The duration of the music piece cannot exceed 8 minutes, under penalty of exclusion from the competition;
– The (UPLOAD) PDF of the music score has to be submitted as stated in the general rules, and the mp3 audio file has to be named as stated in art. 6 comma 3.

PopRock
– Instrumentation:
– Drum
– Double Bass / El. Bass
– Piano / Synthesizer
– El. Guitar 1
– El. Guitar 2
– Voice
– Possible electronic insertions in a sequence that have to be submitted with the score of the composition
– The Author can freely use all combinations of the above list, from a single instrument to the whole instrumentation;
– Music scores using a different instrumentation from the one listed above will not be accepted and thus automatically excluded from the competition;
– The duration of the music piece cannot exceed 8 minutes, under penalty of exclusion from the competition;
– The (UPLOAD) PDF of the music score has to be submitted as stated in the general rules, and the mp3 audio file has to be named as stated in art. 6 comma 3.

Electronic / Electroacoustic/Acousmatic
– Instrumentation:
– Free electronic with the possibility of adding objects, instruments and voices at will.
– The duration of the music piece cannot exceed 8 minutes (8’00’’), under penalty of exclusion from the competition;
– The WAV or AIFF audio file (44.100 or 48.000 Hz / 16 or 24 bit – that has to be shown on the upload format) , as well as the possible PDF of the music score or of the project have to be submitted as stated in art. 6 comma 3 of the general rules;
– The Author has to specify the software that has been used for the sound processing, the mixing, etc (i.e.: Logic, Protools, Audiosculpt, Max/Msp…)

Contemporary Music
– Instrumentation:
– 4-voice choir, a cappella or with Piano accompaniment;
– The Author can freely use the above instrumentation, with free combination of voice types, i.e. mixed choir, male, female, SATB, SA, TB, SAT, ATB, etc; (each section can be deviden into a maximum of 2 parts);
– Music scores using a different instrumentation from the one listed above will not be accepted and automatically excluded from the competition;
– The duration of the music piece cannot exceed 8 minutes (8’00’’), under penalty of exclusion from the competition;
– The (UPLOAD) PDF of the music score has to be submitted as stated in the general rules, and the mp3 audio file has to be named as stated in art. 6 comma 3.

General rules for Section B
Subscription to the competition before the 30th June 2021 via the payment of the registration fee (30 €);
Submission of the material (UPLOAD) before and no later than 12 pm (midnight) of the 30th July 2021;
– 2 finalists for each music genre will compete for the final prize;
– The winner will be granted € 500.00 as a fee for his/her artistic contribution to the matching artwork;
– All finalists will receive a certificate of attendance;
– The Committee may grant honorable mentions for the works deemed as particularly worthy;
– Management of Copyright: “A“ license
– Finalists may be invited to participate to events organized by Open Artelier.
