Musicologist, Journalist.

Lorenz W. Adamer studied musicology and philosophy at the Universities of Tübingen and Vienna, where he completed both academic studies with a bachelor’s and master’s degree. As a student he spent a semester abroad at the University of Pavia/Cremona.

His special research interest lies in the music of the early 20th and 21st century as well as the music of the early modern period. Especially his attention to the intersections between philosophy, music and other arts has led him to a consistent research and publication agenda. His professional experience enabled him to various positions in music and cultural management. Furthermore, he works as an ambitious freelance music journalist (professional education at Freie Journalistenschule Berlin) and is a passionate clarinetist and singer.

Lorenz W. Adamer is currently writing his doctoral thesis and holds the position of a research associate at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen, where he is part of the interdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center 1391 “Different Aesthetics”.
